Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz achieved an outstanding fourth place among the nine German universities in the Top 100

According to the Reuters Top 100 – World's Most Innovative Universities 2019 ranking, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) is among the 100 most innovative universities in the world. JGU ranked a very good 70th overall, an improvement of two places compared with last year. In a national comparison, JGU achieved an impressive fourth place among the nine German universities that made it into the Top 100. This confirms the solid results assigned to JGU in previous years.
The Reuters Top 100 – World's Most Innovative Universities is a university ranking published by Thomson Reuters and aimed at identifying the 100 most innovative institutes of higher education in the world from a pool of 600 research-driven universities. Rankings are based in particular on the number of patent applications submitted by each university and the rate of successful registrations.
