International students at Mainz University are particularly satisfied with the university's services in the categories "Arrival" and "Counseling" and highly appreciate the quality of life in Mainz

Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) scored well in the 2018 International Student Barometer (ISB) survey, once again confirming its appeal among international students.
The International Student Barometer is an international benchmark survey carried out by i-graduate, a British market research institute. Roughly 200,000 international students around the world took part in the 2018 ISB, representing 17 countries and 212 universities, among them 17 German institutions. The results showed that around 87 percent of the international students at Mainz University are satisfied with their courses of study. About 77 percent of those students would recommend studying at JGU.
The international students at JGU were especially satisfied with the "Arrival and orientation" assistance offered. In fact, in terms of the arrival process, JGU managed to gain the second rank among the 17 German universities that were evaluated. In the "Quality of living" category, Mainz was also viewed positively, with particular emphasis being placed on safety, hospitality, and the quality of accommodation. In terms of learning and teaching, the international students especially praised JGU's lecturers and their language skills.
